England
The country of England (part of the UK)
 England
is the largest and most populated country in the United Kingdom (UK). It
occupies southern two-thirds of the island of Great Britain.
England shares land borders with other UK nations Scotland, to the north and
Wales, to the west.
England is named after the Angles, one of a number of Germanic tribes believed
to have originated in Angeln in Northern Germany, who settled in England in the
fifth and sixth centuries.
England has not had a distinct political identity since 1707, when Great
Britain. England, however, has a separate legal system from Scotland and
Northern Ireland.
England's largest city, London, is
also the capital of the United Kingdom.
